Leggio's as Featured in the Independent NEPA Magazine

Leggio’s Italian Ristorante, in Plains Township, has offered delicious, authentic, Italian dishes, as well as many other American favorites, for many years. Now, Leggio’s has brought its inviting atmosphere and appetizing menu to the Back Mountain.
Located in the former Pickett’s Charge Restaurant, the restaurant features many of the same well-loved menu items as the Plains location, with some new dishes added to the mix. Owners Salvatore and Lori Leggio have remodeled the building to feature a Tuscany and Mediterranean decor.

Like the Plains eatery, the Back Mountain Leggio’s offers a full bar and tasty menu, complete with appetizers; a variety of salads and soups; full lunch offerings; sandwiches and wraps; many seafood, chicken and veal dishes; and of course, pretty much any kind of pizza or pasta. Lori suggests two of her favorites- the Chicken Francaise or the Chicken Parmesan- both of which come with a soup or salad, a side of pasta, and bread.
The restaurant’s focus is on affordable family dining. Lori and Sal are hopeful that Leggio’s will be a place that people will come to, relax and eat dinner with their kids and/or grandkids.
The restaurant will open at 11 a.m. and will serve food until 11 p.m.
Sal and Lori will remain active in both restaurants, dividing their time between the two. Lori sees the two restaurants as a “his and hers” type of project. Many people have asked how they are going to manage both, and she credits their years of experience and teamwork for their current success and future plans. According to Lori, they have learned to work together and they each have their own strengths.
Lori, who has years of real estate experience, had noticed years ago that the Pickett’s Charge building was for sale, but it wasn’t the right time for the Leggios. The property came up for sale again recently, and Lori and Sal- who had always liked the Back Mountain location- purchased it. Lori is excited about starting from scratch and being in a new location with a new building.
“We have felt at home in this area with our restaurant for years,” Lori said. “I hope we will feel the same in Dallas, too.”
